Sunah – Nafilah & additional prayers

Posted on January 29, 2008. Filed under: Salah | Tags: , |

From the chart below, every Salah is made up of Fard, the obligatory prayers, Sunnah and Nafilah or additional prayers.

The Holy Prophet (pbuh) said these extra prayers before or after the prescribed Fard prayers.

These are recommended. The sequence of these additional prayers is as follows:

Name of Salah Number of Sunnah before Fard Number of Fard Number of Sunnah after Fard Number of Nafilah
Fajr

1. how do we preform them. what to say and our actions during them.

2.im not to sure the order of the sunnah and nafilah ie/ Zuhr prayer
do we do one sunnah then one nafilah then one sunnah again then one nafilah

thank you.

This site is for the new revert/convert to Islam, offering information and support as well as a place to just talk about your experiences and daily life living with Islam. If you are wondering why some people refer to converts as reverts it’s because there is a belief in Islam that we are all born in the state of purity, we are all born as people who submit to the Will of God, the One True God and it is only later through family and or society that we end up following a different path or religion. So when one comes back to that original state we call them ‘reverts’ instead of converts. The purpose of this site is to help, support and inform the new revert about Islam.
